On November 25, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) officially announced the commencement of the Southeast New City development project in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam, during the "Bac Ninh Province New City Development Project Cooperation Forum."

This project is the first export of the Korean new city model (K-City) abroad, with a planned development area of 800 hectares. A preliminary agreement has been signed between LH and 23 public and private organizations, including 'HANDONG E&C', who will play a major role in the project. Korean companies will collaborate under a Government-to-Government (G2G) model to minimize risks and are expected to expand the export of K-City to international markets in the future.

Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea, emphasized that the Southeast New City project is a high-value-added investment development project. He also stated that the project will extend to construction, materials, equipment, engineering, and smart city industries, creating a significant impact on the economy and employment, with powerful forward and backward ripple effects. Additionally, he noted that this project will set a successful precedent for the export of K-City.
